Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

High Cholesterol at TGI Friday

Fat and calorie count are normally high at American diners and TGI Friday is no exception in that case. Enjoyed lunch on Ocean Ave. Food was good. Two of us paid cash one gentleman paid with a credit card. Later that evening we learned TGIF had charged our friends credit card for all our meals even though two of us already paid in cash. Same old Miami Beach scams. Be careful with your credit card. The gentleman returned and the manager straightened it all out. That said it should have never happened and if it did they should have corrected it before we ever so the bill. Moral of the story pay cash count your change and assume everyone is out to scam you in Miami Beach, yes this means you TGIFridays. We caught you this time, never happen again.

We got to the restaurant around 2am. Upon entering there was no hostess at the front. A server walked past us and said "hey". We spoke and she kept going. A few minutes later the hostess came to the front and informed us there would be a 10 minute wait for a table or we could sit at the bar. We decided to get a table. Once seated we waited for our waitress... and waited and waited and waited... After like 15/20 minutes our waitress came over and asked "have we ordered yet". Um no, you're the waitress and this is the first time you've came to the table. We placed our orders. Another 10 minutes passed and our drinks were delivered to the table. The service was not the best. We did not see our waitress again once our food was delivered until it was time to clear the table and pay. Towards the end of our visit it seemed as if she was in a better mood. The food however was great! Hot, fresh and delicious. I arrived to Miami at 12:30am so having the option to have a meal like steak at 2am beats a McDonald's burger any day. If you have the time to spare then go in grab something to eat. If you have plans and somewhere to be, and customer service is important to you then this may not be the best place for you.

Such super bad service. I had stayed in the restaurant about 30 minutes, wet menu, wet napkin, food but no sauce. I had to ask for dry menu, dry napkin one by one and l had to ask for sauce 3 times until I got mad and yelled to the waiters and waitresses in the fourth time. Super Bad.

So I came into tgif fridays the host first goes to wipe a table, im waiting 5min for that, then im sat all the way at the back and im waiting 20min for a server. I even called the phone and spoke to someone and said ive been waiting for a sever. I still waited thirteen minutes after that. Then my server weronicka comes and greets me I ask for a manager and he cones like ten mins later hefty larger kinda bald older white guy with glasses on his shirt and says after I tell him how long I waited "well she came by didn't she" I said "yea after 29mins" he didnt apologize or anything he just said "do u kno what u want to eat" the 10 more mins for the check from the manager kevin and didnt even discount or take care of ticket mind u I waited 40min in all for service. Never again

Went for a late lunch around 5 p.m. My husband and I were seated quickly outside and greeted by Veronica, our waitress. Our drinks and food were brought out promptly and we had no issue. The food was good and our waitress was friendly and attentive (allowing us space and time to converse) to our needs as we were eating. No issue at all. It's pretty all American!

We waited along with 4 other tables for 20mins before anyone came to take our order. 1 table walked out. We finally ordered our drinks and food and our food arrived cold before we were served our drinks. The tabale beside us asked for assistance twice. The 2 and time the host asked the waitress to assist and they had an argument in front of everyone... DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Background: We were walking along South Beach and wanted something small and fairly inexpensive. As well, we were dressed very casually so we didn't want a restaurant that had a more formal tone. We ordered the share 5 appetizers for $27. This same order is $25 elsewhere in the country but because Miami is busier and touristy, they are able to increase their prices. Our choices were: Asian pork tacos, tuna tostado, Mac and cheese balls with bacon, chicken skewers and Parmesan meatballs. Order came up to close to $40 for the apps plus one diet coke and one iced strawberry passion fruit drink. The Good: - It wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night at around 8:30pm so we were able to be seated immediately outside. - The actual food wasn't too bad. We felt that they focused a little more on quantity over quality. We both thought the chicken skewers were the best although the piece of pita bread on the bottom isn't really necessary. I also enjoyed the meatballs. These were pretty substantial. The Bad: - The food quality wasn't the greatest. The Mac and cheese balls were a little too cheesy and fake tasting. - It ended up being more expensive than we originally thought. Summary: This meal didn't really stand out as being horrible or great. It was all around mediocre.

Ok, so I live on sobe and never been in this place. Most TGIF are tourist traps and this didn't escape that stereotype. I was really craving a blue cheese wedge salad so I made my way here because I typically like theirs. It was busy as expected but we were seated rather quickly. However once seated, we disappeared like the little boy when he put on his sunglasses in that movie big daddy with Adam sandler. We waited like 10 minutes before we got water. The server was terrible and non attentive. I ordered my salad and my sister got the sampler app. When my salad came, it was drowned in blue cheese dressing and my sis app was cold. We had to send it back. Not cool. I have a strawberry Moscow mule. That was really good, so props for that. If I go back, it wld be just for that. It's on the very busy corner of ocean and 5th, which is the main street into sobe, so be prepared to see some very interesting characters in there. Actually. On a drunken night, this place may actually be entertaining. Lol

The Manager is worst than the workers. I wonder why they had worst customer services. The manager told us not to move chairs when we tried to pull an empty seat. And told us to wait for someone to get us a big table when we can easily seat. But the big table took almost an hour and no one came to tell us it will take forever. But it was too late by the time we get out chairs. So we had no choice but to stay. But i will not recommend anyone.

Service wasn't bad. Food came out pretty fast. Bartender was friendly and attentive but...i was over charged. Next time ill just drive to NMB of im in the mood for some tgi fridays. I could've used the extra money on gas or something but it is South Beach. Everything on the beach is over charged lol

This place is the worst place i been to so far in Miami. I am on vacation here and had good time all day but coming to this place was the wrong option we did. Customer service is 0. They tell us 10 mins but to get a site and order took almost an hour. And no one came to say anything. This place will be my last recommendation for anyone in town for good food.

Horrible service. I had a question on an item & the server said she didn't "have time to walk me through the menu" . I understand it can be busy at times & one may get frustrated but to take it out on a customer. .that's unheard of..

  • Misty H.

Some of the food is good, some isn't. My pretzels weren't cooked enough, still doughy, literally just dough in some spots. Boyfriend's chicken was super small and his macaroni wasn't good. But the most noticeable issue with this location is the service! You'll wait to be seated, you'll wait for someone to take your drink order, you'll wait for your food, no one will refill your drink and check on you unless you track them down. The couple next to us finally got their food, and they literally got up and walked out bc they were so frustrated at the lack of service. Only come here if you have LOTS of time to just sit and wait and chill.

The Spanish male waiter with his hair tied up is extremely rude and should show some customer service that is deserving of any tips. Hence, why does food take 40 minutes to come out when the restaurant is 1/4 packed? I can't imagine on a full day. Wouldn't rate the food either. Do not go here. Only positive is the waitress who took care of us. Nice and friendly

I have not eaten at TGIF in a few years, so after seeing them in the airport on Monday 9/29 in Dallas during a lay-over, I got super excited! Chicken strips at TGIF NEVER disappoints...had to have them! Fast forward to Friday 10/3 I'm now in So. Beach and my hotel happens to be next door to TGIF! The smell called me in again, and the rain made it very convenient. I was happy to know that TGIF has a Gluten Free option for customers like me. I had the GF spinach dip, and a bacon cheeseburger and I was oh so happy! Cooked perfect and tastes good.... Yep, haven't had a burger in a minute and I enjoyed it. I've seen my husband eat at least 4 burgers in the last 7 days and I couldn't resist! I'll have to make sure I visit them more than every 3 years!

ANGER! Raging anger! THAT'S how I feel as I write this. I recently ( 1.5 hr ago) dined in your restaurant. 1am on South Beach in Miami. Usually it's a time for drunks and the craziness that is South Beach. It had been a long day and my companions and I decided to grab a quick drink and bite before heading back to the hotel. The dining room is empty (it's 1am not surprising) the bar has 6 other patrons, we sit at the bar and order our drinks from JORGE N. The drinks arrive fairly quickly. about 10 minutes later we order food ..... and wait ...and wait ..and wait. the food arrives, we order a second round and decide to tab out..then it happened. JORGE N brings the tab and informs us that he didn't charge us for the drinks but just tip him $30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT!!!?!??!?! He even broke it down and said we had $50 in drinks but $30 was ok. I have been a server/bartender for 25 years - still counting - and I have NEVER, EVER been told that "I didn't charge you for you your drinks tip me $30) I have never been so insulted by a server in my life. For reference we had: 3 draft beers 2 Bomb Saf 1 Patron plus food I have the receipt and check number, feel free to contact me for details.

Typical TGI Friday's the food was just okay, but the service was the worst. I sat on the patio out front, and it took forever for the server to bring the menus, food and drinks. All other servers seemed to be helping their customers in a timely manner. I would definitely not be returning and sitting outside. Maybe the service inside the business is a lot better, but I think it's too far to drive to find out.

Awful service and microwaved food. Check was dropped by waitress before clearing our plates. Management moved our dirty plates to another empty table feet away from dish room.

Great food- Try the double bleu cheese burger. Kyle is a great bartender and Aaron is an accommodating server. I had a few customer service issues, which I addressed to corporate. They were super accommodating, which is why I edited my ad. TGI fridays is consistently a good bet.

Brittany was my server I sat at the bar. She got my first drink fairly quick as well as my order. My meal was great and it came out within a reasonable time but Brittanys service sucks I wasn't even done half way through my first beer, my food wasn't even ready when she handed me the bill, once my food came I ordered a second beer, she gave me the beer still with the foam coming out of the glass and got all over the table wasn't even nice enough to apologize or at the very least clean it, i had to clean it my self and before I had the first sip of the beer i had the bill ready to go. I understand if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't the 2 stars go for the meal. I had the Jacks chicken and shrimp

    (2)
  • Ricardo M.

This is the worst TGI I've ever been to. Really understaffed so service is absolutely ridiculous. Just getting a soda refill is almost impossible. Not to mention that the gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

  • Devan J.

I would give this location 0 stars if I could. Horrible!!!!! We had to recruit a server because we sat down and waited about 5 minutes without anyone coming to serve us. When we finally got our server, he was slow and unenthusiastic!! We waited forever for WATER and then for our basket of bread. We finally got our server back so we could order. We ordered our food and it took around 45 minutes for a party of six. And mind you-the restaurant was barely full!! We never got refills and we had to get up and ask the manager for the checks and to go boxes. Needless to say- the next time I visit miami I will NOT be returning to this Fridays. Highly disappointed.

Worst service and place of business I have ever experienced in my life!!! for one our party was sat right away but no one came to our table to greet us for about 10 minutes. An employee of the actual restaurant was passed out drunk rolling on the floor went to the bathroom and literally vomited on the entire floor which caused the women's bathroom to be closed down. All while the "managers" were letting her sleep with NO SHOES on and basically enabling this EMPLOYEE. I have never been to a place of business that allowed this kind of behavior especially by an employee and ESPECIALLY when it's very easy to lose your liquor license when over serving a patron. I for one never write reviews but this drove me to taking the time to write one. I will NEVER be visiting this place again. worst experience and even more horrible because I was on vacation.

This was I say the worst TGI in Miami. .. The service is absolutely awful we had to go back to the front to find out who our waiter was and then had to continue calling the waiter they kept bringing the wrong food to our table and it wasn't busy at all. Am I in a hurry to go to this location again. .. No! I gave it 2 stars because when we finally got our food it was pretty good. ..

We were seated quickly but literally waited 30 min to be served. We hadn't even been asked what drinks we wanted. Good was another 30 min. We waited 15 more to wait for our check and for our payment to be processed. FYI it wasn't even busy. We should have walked out...

I stopped by this past Memorial Day on my way to enjoying the sun, and have frequented this same location a few other times. The two long islands I enjoyed Monday rank up there as far as actually having alcohol and being well mixed. They went down smooth. The bruschetta chicken pasta was tasty as well. The noodles weren't soggy, the tomatoes were crisp and the chicken lean. I like the fact they serve it with balsamic vinegar. It's a creative presentation and gives the pasta a sweet "background taste". I also ordered the vanilla bean cheesecake, which was alright, tasty but not spectacular. Next time, just put more pieces of chicken and I'll add the fifth star! Bathrooms and the general floor were also clean, and the TV's around the bar were showing a couple of baseball game. The bar staff was also friendly.

A good place to go if want an alright meal. Standard menu here so you should already know what you want before you go inside. I ordered a 10oz steak and it was nice but ordered it to be med-well but came out very rare but still went down well. All in alll still a good place to eat cause of the atmosphere and helpful bar staff and waiters

Food was decent. Service left A LOT to be desired. I came twice and only ate once because service was so bad. I hope you're not spoiled into thinking your drink (water) will be refilled. It won't happen. Don't even think about seeing your server outside of taking the order and bringing it out.

I had a REALLY good meal here - but was disappointed in a couple ares too: First, best mashed potatoes and rib eye on the beach - ridiculously true. Bad: It costs $34 for a single entree and one diet soda at TGIF's - for real. A little pricey for a kind of low-end chain. My waiter was very friendly, and recommended the rib eye with lobster sauce over the other less expensive dish I had been pandering. Then, after I chose the steak with lobster sauce, he told me it wasn't going to come with lobster sauce at and there were going to substitute shrimp instead - for real. The tip was included in the $34 check - which the waiter also did not tell me (that's not nice). Food came out hot, completely disorganized/total mess on my plate - tasted great and was quicker than I thought it would be cuz the place was so packed. All in all - I would definitely recommend this place and even go back.

Great place to go while visiting south beach. Service however needs help. Let me rephrase... Everyone except our server needs help. Marcus was the only one who seemed excited we were actually there. The host seemed angry that we walked in. It was around 830 and I was coming in with my family who came to visit me from all over the country. Marcus was upbeat and excited to take care of us. We left him a very nice tip because he deserved every penny of it! The other servers didn't want anything to do with us. First impression wasn't looking good but he completely turned it around for us. Great guy. Keep him around and we will be back!

This is bad even for a chain! The food is, eh! But I expected that because it's a chain. The bar service was TERRIBLE. My bartender didn't even know what a perfect Manhattan was (hello, it's a classic)! I tried to get someone else to serve us because our bartender was so terrible (he would ignore us, make the drinks bad, didn't know about the alcohol) actually it was embarrassing.

We went to Friday's after paying way too much for mediocre food on SoBe. We were so happy with the food and service we stopped back in for a second visit in the same week. We ended up eating here three times during our stay...the first two were fantastic and the last was terrible because of the service. This may have been because the third time was Friday night and we were seated in the bar. There were plenty of seats available in a quieter area, but we were not given one. Unless you are going to watch a game in the bar I recommend asking to be seated in the back.

Another rip off on South Beach...15% gratuity pushed into your check for a sub standard service. The funny thing is that they DO NOT tell you about it. I try to understand that sometimes the tourists in the area don't leave tips, but why should I pay because someone else doesn't? The service sucks, we ordered Korean tacos that(according to the menu) are crispy and crunchy tacos...ours were far from crunchy, more to the soggy side. The other plate was Chicken piccattta, the pasta was swimming in a buttery sauce. And for this you are to pay 15% ??? I thought that the service should be at least good....this was terrible. I later learned that it is standard in the area to charge gratuity but it is also mandatory to post signs that say that you will be charged, well guess what? every body forgets to put the sign. FLAGRANT RIP OFF!!!

Although Fridays normally is not known for the best meal you ever ate I have to give this place 5 stars for a few reasons. On ocean drive it was the only one serving drinks the size of your head for under $20. It was also the only restaurant on the block that was not begging us to eat at it. Something is to be said for not being harrassed while on vacation. When walking on the side walk for some reason on this block you are bombarded with people showing you menus and telling you specials. We also had great service which helps. The food was your typical fridays food so if you like sliders and fridays pasta dishes this is where to go to save a few bucks.

Went here last night for a surprise party for a friend's graduation. We all had a great time, the staff allowed us to gather in the back, in a separate seating area, where we all can congregate and act up. =) Everything went well and the staff were very helpful with our little party. They placed our cake in the refrigerator and even wrote CONGRATS with caramel syrup which was really nice of them. Even allowed us to set decorations and CONGRATS! signs on the wall. As for the food, it was average T.G.I Friday's kind of food. I shared a entree of mashed potato and chicken with cheese and few friends had ribs with a side of fries. Not much to talk about, it's the kind of food I've had at other TGIs and expected. The bar is stocked with JIM BEAM's white label and also Makers Mark. It's nice that they actually had two choices of straight Kentucky bourbon whiskeys but it would be even nicer if they carried Bookers or Knob Creek. =) Kinda bummed out that they ran out of Spinach Dip on a Tuesday night. It wasn't busy or anything. Not sure what happen there. Overall, it was an average night with nice waitresses.

Sometimes you want to get away from the chaos that is Ocean Drive, especially when you've just come from the beach. After dealing with a horrible bout of 'broken flip-flopitis,' all I wanted was a damned cocktail. Something with booze and lots of it. I didn't want to be yelled at. I didn't want to be offered food. I felt sweaty, dirty, and exhausted from the whole ordeal, and I was getting more frustrated with each passing happy hour call. I wish I had a sign around my neck telling them to leave me the hell alone, but I really doubt they were about to strain themselves reading. It's times like this that the beauty of the chain and familiarity can come in handy. You know what you're getting, but it's often times the servers that really can make or break an experience at places like this. The bartenders at this specific location kick all kinds of ass, though. They are entertaining, friendly, and make some mean drinks. My long island went down smooth as we found out non-touristy places to get Cuban food, and watched them practice bottle tricks. They all sang loudly for a group celebrating a birthday. Every server that came to the bar for drink orders seemed to enjoy working there. Everyone bantered back and forth. It was a legitimate good time. Plus the place was dead for a Saturday night. The beauty of south beach.

The foot traffice through the resturant is a busy as a subway station at rush hour. TGI Fridays is a regular chain of semi fast food joints. This is a quick stop for food if you want to spend a little money and get a standard off the grill meal. The place is not spotless but having people skating, walking and just moving through to the rest rooms what would you expect. At least TGI Fridays do nothave women out front begging you to come in.

I was hanging out in South Beach one day and I was super hungry. All I wanted was a salad, just a salad. I really didn't want to get stuck at one of the tourist trap restaurants and I didn't know where else to go, so we went to Friday's. I know their food is not super spectacular but it is cheap and I was a little tight on money that particular day. I was having a hard time finding a salad that I wanted so I just picked a random salad with grilled chicken and cranberries. Out came the salad and it looked horrible. First of all, this salad looked nothing like the salad that was on the picture on the menu. Second of all, the salad was supposed to have romaine lettuce and I was served ice burg letter. That was the tip of the ice burg, pun intended. The lettuce was wilted. It looked like there was a salad that had been sitting in the window for about 5 hours from an old order. I was really disgusted. I asked the waitress that my salad didn't look appetizing and I requested a completely different salad from the menu. She took it away. I sat and waited for, I swear, about 15 minutes. I figured they were doing their job and making a whole new salad. The waitress came back and she served me the exact same salad just with different toppings. I was so pissed. Can someone please tell me how a large corporate establishment can serve a nasty salad 2 times back to back to the same customer. This happened a while back, and let me tell you, this will be the last time I will ever eat here or any other TGI Friday's.

I had not been to this Fridays in yearssss...but I decided to take my sis here because she wanted to spend time in Sobe and we wanted to have a couple of drinks. Well........not my fav spot by far. The waitress seemed in a hurry and looked frustrated when we asked a question about the menu. The appettizers we ordered were ok but nothing out of this world. Place was packed with people that looked like tourists but u knew where from Miami. The only highlight of the night was the fact that I was there with my sis...she made it all worth it!.

I ate there twice, on December 25 and 26.The food, especially the pot sticker appetizer, was good and the service was great.

This place is severly overpriced. Bill for one appetizer, two drinks, 1 plate of chicken strips / 1 full rack of ribs = $70.. could have gone to fancy restuarant for that.. would not recommend -- -stay away from this place

  • Located on the most southern point of Ocean Drive in Miami South Beach is one of the most glorious resorts in the world. Walking distance from the beach for a either a small sandwich snack to a full out steak and fries platter, eating indoors has better benefits than outdoors for one the air conditioning is essentail must have. Great service with great food

It was standard TGI-Fridays, nothing great, nothing terrible, service was fine. It was better than gambling with my life at one of those places where they try to lure you in with big plates full of plastic shrimp, while barking the days deals.

Man, never take the recommendation of a DJ or magician when it comes to the Friday's menu. I don't remember if it was Tiesto or Carl Cox or David Blaine, but one of those guys definitely owes me and Deep C. a steak. Jesus, all we wanted were some chicken fingers and maybe some potato skins, but all these hi-pro mofo's kept pushing the Argentinian rubbed top sirloin, even though Deepcuts and me were all like, "nah man, we don't roll like that".. But next thing we know, they stick us with the bill. Well, we were gonna dine n dash, but didn't want to leave our waiter hangin cause we're sensitive lads. Also, the steak sucked.

This was not my most pleasant experience for a Fridays but i cant complain too much with the location and the view. It is definitely a great place for people watching and getting the South Beach experience. The service wasn't the greatest but it might have been the time of day. Some of the drinks came out very watered down but were graciously replaced.

I want to start by saying I love Friday's. It's my fave place to go on a weekend, love happy hour drinks everything. My cousin was visiting South Beach with some friends so i decided to go to this particular one. NEVER AGAIN. We had to get up on 3 different occasions to locate our server. It was loud service was super slowwwww. If this was my 1st visit to a Fridays, I would never return, but I know how great this place is. I do reccomend Fridays, just not this location.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
